Hybrid faucets, what is it and why do I need one? Well effective January 4, 2014, a new Federal law will require all kitchen and lavatory faucets sold in the U.S. to be certified lead-free. By Federal definition, this means lead content can be no more than .25 percent in the materials touched by the water you drink. This is great for the consumer, but has posed a problem for faucet manufacturers.
